New investment is helping us expand our manufacturing capabilities, create skilled jobs and support innovative medical technology.
We’re continuing to invest in the future of DaceCrown after securing funding that has enabled us to increase capacity, enhance our machining capabilities and take on exciting new projects across a range of industries.
Since acquiring the business in 2023, we’ve grown our team from three to 11 employees and increased annual turnover to more than £1 million. This growth has allowed us to strengthen our position as a trusted manufacturing partner for customers operating in the drinks, beauty and pharmaceutical sectors, with organisations including Boots, Estée Lauder and The Coca Cola Company.
One of our most rewarding projects to date has been manufacturing components for innovative cancer care technology designed to improve the patient experience. The equipment enables treatment and diagnosis to take place in a more natural, upright position, helping create a more comfortable environment while improving communication between clinicians and patients.
Jake Harley-Arliss, Director at DaceCrown, commented:
“When we acquired DaceCrown, we knew there was an opportunity to build on the company’s strong reputation and invest in its future. We’re proud to be growing the business, expanding into new markets and contributing to technology that has the potential to make a real difference to people’s lives.”
As part of our continued investment, we’ve introduced new manufacturing equipment, including a Haas Mini Mill with fourth axis capability. The additional capacity has streamlined production, reducing the number of machining operations required on certain components and significantly improving efficiency.
The investment has also enabled us to secure larger, longer term contracts while continuing to develop our skilled workforce.
Tom White, Director at DaceCrown, added:
“Investing in the right equipment has transformed what we’re able to achieve for our customers. We’ve improved efficiency, increased capacity and created a stronger platform for future growth, allowing us to take on larger and more technically demanding projects with confidence.”
Supporting local talent remains a key part of our business. Every member of our team lives within a short distance of our Frankley facility, with many joining us from outside manufacturing before receiving hands on training and development.
Jake added:
“We believe attitude and commitment are just as important as experience. We can teach technical skills, but finding people who genuinely want to learn and be part of our journey is invaluable. Investing in local people is something we’re passionate about.”
Alongside recruiting locally, we continue to support apprenticeships and T Level placements to help encourage more people into careers in manufacturing.
Looking ahead, we’ll continue investing in our people, equipment and capabilities while expanding both our manufacturing services and our consumer brand, CrownWorks Distillery. We’re excited about the opportunities ahead and remain committed to delivering the quality, service and innovation our customers have come to expect.
